There are so many levels that a Nader run brings to teasing out the corporate welfare backed Dem candidates message(s), holding their feet to the fire. One of the most common complaints I have heard about Nader's runs are "he takes money from Republicans".

HELL YES! I think that's the most hilarious part. Why have him take money from Democrats, whose positions are more closely aligned? The GOP traditionally has so much more to go around...2Truthyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06621258620190540140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22563831.post-48287475269859947752008-02-27T21:18:00.000-08:002008-02-27T21:18:00.000-08:00Why not replace the whole Congress or get rid of t...Why not replace the whole Congress or get rid of them? That should fix the problem of hamstrung presidents. No candidate is an agent for the people since all of them are screened during the selection process for their abilities to please the campaign overlords. No revolution is possible without an agent of change. Which one will it be? The one who "says" change or the one who "makes" change?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22563831.post-6852947586294535852008-02-25T14:09:00.000-08:002008-02-25T14:09:00.000-08:00Hey CC,These orgs definitely have many good goals....Hey CC,

These orgs definitely have many good goals. My point is that they both conspicuously leave out white collar job exodus and I question how exactly and why exactly millions of middle/upper class citizens lose homes, healthcare and jobs due to highly orchestrated efforts between corporations, lawfirms, and body shops (thank you "Pearl Street Scam") so that millions of others can move in here from other countries and progressive orgs like these don't put this issue at the top of their socially conscious menus? Why is is this? Why are the "progressive" writers associated with these orgs silent on this issue?

BTW, I made a couple of minor 'adjustments' to this post today in order to try to convey the heart of my message which goes something like this:

Liberal Dems have a peculiar hoarding mentality that ends up looking downright stingey when it comes to the middle/upper middle class. They LOVE to bleed for the poor since that is essentially *free* and provides a feel-good bonus at the end of the day.

But they have this nagging *blindspot* when it comes to acknowleding economic realities in communal settings. It's not so much that they didn't pass first grade sharing or their mothers loved them too much... but more an instinctual recognition of limited resources which makes them just as hypocritical and mean-spirited as Republicans, if not more.

You ask

"What do you say to people who criticize Nader for taking votes away from Democrats? Are you saying it doesn't matter because things are the same under the Democrats as they are for the Republicans?"

And my answer is that since FDR, the thirst for global domination combined with scarce global resources have been forcing Democrats to emulate Republicans in their rush to secure their place in line at the corporate trough. All stated ideological distinctions aside, there is no choice in what the one party system of big money produces for the majority in this country. Unless people like Nader throw a wrench in this corporate welfare system, it really is the GOP's election to lose.2Truthyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06621258620190540140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22563831.post-90872114962794492962008-02-25T10:19:00.000-08:002008-02-25T10:19:00.000-08:00Great post, 2Truthy. I can't help but notice that Alan Greenspan's answer for everything that ails society is to lower our wages ;-)

I had never seen ourfuture.org before, but in my first glance I really liked a few of the articles. Even our beloved Sirota contributes. The people who produce this website are a slick bunch of operators. I've noticed a common theme in your posts regarding people who are pretending to be hard-hitting but are just going through the motions. I particularly liked this statement of yours, "Instead of naming names of the real tyrants -- the corporate elites who don't want the middle class anywhere near their companies as they can outsource those jobs to the poor and less educated, third world people for a fraction of the pay ---, these writers continue to create the illusion that there is an "alternative" to the big, bad, MSM when they in fact pine for the same crumbs at this ham-fisted table."

What do you say to people who criticize Nader for taking votes away from Democrats?
